Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you fix my disc-based games?
A: Not at the moment! To fix a disc-based game properly, we require a resurfacing machine which we do not currently have, though we aim to provide this service in the future!

Q: What does your cleaning and testing process look like?
A: Generally we use a mix of rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, Goo-Gone, microfiber towels, and other non-abraisives on the exterior of your cartridge-based games. The contact pins are generally cleaned with either a cotton swab + alcohol, eraser, or fiberglass pen (in extreme cases.)
We will only test your game in the original 1st party console that it was released on. We will not test with Retrons or other aftermarket 3rd party consoles.

Q: Do you guarantee that you can get my games to work again?
A: Unfortunately, no. In most cases we will be able to get your game functioning with a simple cleaning, however there are some cases where we will need to open the game up and get medieval on it. We will do our level best to get your game working, but unfortunately it's not a surefire thing.

Q: What happens if you accidentally damage my game, or it comes back and no longer functions?
A: We are not liable for any damage to your game(s), but it is hard to break something that is already broken.
We will treat your games as though they are our own, ensuring the utmost care and precaution is taken while working on them.

Q: What kind of experience do you have with this? How do I know you'll do a good job?
A: Bobby has been working with retro video games for over a decade both professionally and as a hobby. He has cleaned, tested, re-pinned, replaced batteries, and more on... literally thousands of games with an exceedingly high success rate.

Q: What is your turnaround time like?
A: This depends on how many games you drop off as well as how many games we have in our queue. Generally your games should be ready for pickup within a few days!
